I use top tire fuels, but they are lower octane than required by my engine builder.

Usually buy cheapest fuel for budgetary reasons; it's not in there that long anyway.

ALWAYS, only thing I can afford unfortunately. Sometimes I can't really afford that either with how high prices are again.

I usually buy regular gas at Sheetz because I get a 3 cent/gallon discount there. If another station in town is more than 3 cents/gallon cheaper or I am using my grocery discount at Giant Food's gas station, I will usually buy at Sheetz. I never buy any grade other than regular unleaded 87.

I see no reason to spend the money on a higher grade of fuel. My car doesn't recommend it.

I always buy the mid grade, if the price is within reason. I have found that octane of 89 vs. 87 does give better gas mileage, and around here it's only 2c higher.

I found I could always beat emissions test if I use last two tanks with Amoco Premium - even if vehicle just failed. Lack of emissions is the key.

if i can find a place that has a lower gas price i go with mid grade or higher but if it around in the area i live i go with the lower grade fuel. And the higher grade fuel does make a difference in certain cars

I would always put cheap gas thn I heard its better to put expensive gas. Then I was told tht expensive gas was just a waste and tht my vehicle should use the cheap gas. So, now I use the reg gas and have recntly replaced my filter and spark plugs and it has helped my gas mileage alot.

I probably buy mid-grade for my rig even though it recommends premium just to be on the safe side. I could probably get away with regular. I buy whatever. It seems that all the stations I drive by don't vary too much one from another.

BobCH there doesn't seem to be a unified resource for ethanol free gas like there is for biodiesel or CNG.
I make a point to note in the comments entry if gas is e-free to help people make that choice.

I'm a newspaper carrier, so I have to fill up about every other day. I will choose the cheapest station that's on my route, unless I get caught with not enough gas to be sure of getting to that station.
On my last car, I did try filling up 2-3 times with premium instead of regular -- as far as I could tell it made no difference at all to my gas mileage.
Ethanol free gas -- is there a way to find stations that carry this?

ə always the cheapest available gasoline (here, that is 89 grade gasohol), unless it is e85 which i cannot use, or 85 grade which is not high enough for my car. i use gb on the road when i can find a wi-fi hot spot to look for the best price in my area. ə

I buy ethanol free fuel. Yes I pay a little more, but I get better mileage then the cheaper fuel with ethanol. Usually 3-4 more miles to the gallon. Ethanol is just a filler for the oil companies and has no fuel burning benefit.
