It went down to $30 awhile ago. That will be the last time it gets that low ever again. Unless the world economy takes a sharp left turn which is highly unlikely to happen.

Borg08, even though oil prices are going down, gas prices on the market are rising.

Hey do you know why gas prices have continued to rise slowly even though crude oil dropped back to ~$35 a barrel?
Last time it was $35 a barrel, gas around here was $1.30 a gallon, this time it's about $1.60+.

Borg08,
It will. The size of 'toxic assets' is said to be around 60 (SIXTY) TRILLION dollars. The US economy has collapsed as it has never before. We will see things in our lives, in the economy that we would never imagine seeing ever, including 9 dollar a barrel oil and following that in a few years 900 (nine hundred), maybe 900,000 dollars a barrel oil.
Zimbabwe has a 50 billion dollar note. The annual inflation rate was 231 million %.
A day will come when dollar bills would be better used as a toilet paper.

Blumonster I know you've been saying it for a while, but man, I just don't think I can believe it'll get THAT low.
In other news it's $33.48 right now.

It may already have hit bottom at around $32.00 just before Christmas. It remains to be seen depending on how long the fighting in Gaza goes on and the condition of the world economy in the next 3 months.

Prices probably will not drop much lower than they have been recently - mid to upper $30's. At some point, the profit will be so small that the companies will not recover operating expenses (salaries and benefits, permitting, equipment, maintenance, etc.) Production will be cut back, resulting in lower inventory. Lower inventory, of course, will cause prices to stabilize or even rise.
Also, oil prices are likely to rebound if more land is declared off limits to exploration and drilling, and if the drilling ban on the outer continental shelf is reimposed.
