It was around the New Year. They played a recording of a jazz trumpeter describing the shofar, and also proceeded to perform the Shofar service. The announcer mentioned the guy's name and said that the tune was called "Shofar, so good".

My grandparents would round up all the Israeli's in Montreal who had no family and they would be at our table. I am also baking a pineapple upside down cake, as I gave up trying to bake an edible Lekah (honey) cake. For tonight, since I want to get to synagogue, I am "Cheating" by making a Pot Roast in the Crock Pot and when I get home (I'm leaving early) I'll also make some chicken soup. If I have time, I'm making Russian egg Salad, which is made from eggs, potatoes and Schmaltz (which I also make myself!) I must be crazy!
