After driving several hours to see if there's any promise left in any of the U.S. based auto manufacturers, I left with an open heart... at least for one of them. Ford has come a long way, and in my opinion, is the most ready of the Detroit three for the years ahead. I walked into the Auto Show and was greeted by an electric blue Ford sign, sucking me into their gigantic display of new cars- with a full dedication to their upcoming electric vehicles. I walked past it, heading towards Subaru and Mazda.

Ford is trying harder. They were a star at CES, also.

Ford still feels cheap and gives me the impression of cutting corners in design.

Ford has come a long way, but in this bad economy with no end in sight, big ticket items will have rough sledding.

I have not been there since 2004, but it's always incredible. The only bad thing about it is the weather.

I think Ford was internally boosted by their relative good news over the past few years. It's the placebo effect, and it's real.

If the big three want to compete with the imports, they best be thinking a little more up to date. Good for Ford and I believe GM is not far behind. Think alternative energy.

It is good to see GM even at the auto show. GM has contributed much to the betterment of this nation through two world wars and their stimulation after 911. Ford was fortunate to be in the market for loans when the finance system was still working.

Ford has always been my first choice. Not to sure now after buying the new 2011 Fiesta 5 speed. It has a high pitch sound at highway speeds that is so annoying & Ford will not fix the noise. Said its the characteristic of the car, WHAT! Not a big Ford Fan now!

Ford didn't drink the government Kool-Aid like Government Motors or Fix-it-Again-Tony Chrysler...even though it will be several years at the earliest before I can even look at another new car, I plan to attend the St. Louis Auto Show and pay special attention to Ford...they not only have the better idea, they chose the only right idea to keep their company afloat!

PD, it would be nice if the photos had captions and could be enlarged so one could really see the cars. As they are they’re just colorful dots on the page to older eyes.
