Evaluating last week's prediction for this week, I said "By next Monday, I forecast the national average in the U.S. to rise to $3.06 per gallon, while Canada prices will average 111.2c/L." Looking at our latest GasBuddy pricing data, we show the U.S. average at $3.056 per gallon while prices in Canada are coming in at 111.6c/L. I'll call that a very close prediction.

Now that most of us are back to the daily activities following the holidays, I expect demand for oil products to fall slightly. We're entering the time of year that demand is typically weakest as many stay indoors as cold temps prevail over much of the country. I'm hopeful that we may see a small decrease in prices (not this week) by mid-to-late January. We've seen such...

I'm afraid the (gas price) beast is too powerful to stop now. Plus, the media is shoving higher prices down our throats.

These predictions aren't worth printing. Speculators dictate the prices.

If drilling and other recovery methods are so easy and profitable, how come more businesses aren't scrambling to do it? It's not all about government restrictions.

Big problem with regulating the market is most of the export oil is high sulfur stuff we can NOT use without lots of expensive processing. And what do we think would happen if we didn't export, the people we export to would buy somewhere else.

Drill more shale oil on shore & keep sales within the USA. STOP SPECULATORS FROM BUYING FUTURES. THIS CAN BE DONE WITHIN THE USA. No american oil should be allowed to be sold overseas until we are not importing any oil from OPEC. ANY AMERICAN OIL EXPORTED SHOULD IMPOSE AN EXPORT TAX. ONLY EXCEPTION SHOULD BE RECIPROCAL WITH CANADA OUR LARGEST SUPPLIER. Since they are shipping massive amounts to us I doubt they need any of ours anyway; at least at present.

This would not only release the USA from any OPEC control but improve our economy and lower the cost of fuel, again stimulating our economy. Also repeal any carbon tax; Cap & Trade. Answer to many problems but too simple for our Bureaucrats to comprehend or implement. Then if they want to stimulate Green energy development or balance the budget they can use some of the oil export tax.

With the holidays over, maybe OPEC will give us a late christmas present and lower the price of a barrel of oil.

When snow is on the ground, people drive less whether it is holiday season or not. This should be taken into account when they try to radio the oil usage numbers.

We need to designate a day of each week, such as Tuesday, that everyone stays at home, if possible, and no one buys gas that day of the week. Inventory would start to rise pretty fast.

Screw OPEC. Drill here & drill now. We have the oil & natural gas supplies to be independent of OPEC. Have OBAMA pull his head out of his anal orifice and start drilling here and add refineries.

Don't you just love these weekly outlooks which tells us gas prices at the pump are increasing. We know this as we are seeing and feeling it in our pocket books since we are paying more and getting less gas.

With less gas sold could that mean more
of an increase? OPEC's got to make up
for lost sales.
