It will never end. The United States will become just like Europe-continual high unemployment and debt

too bad that the greed of pig oil won't let the pump prices drop a bit until the economy has caught itself and is indeed on the rise.

well it's a blog. It's a nice analysis, but quite frankly, I don't think the economy is going anywhere fast right now.

I appreciate the analysis by the GasBuddy Blog. I agree that if and when we go back into a bull market with actual increases in employment; then we may well see an increase in the gas and oil futures. And that increase would be passed along at the pump. But as of yet that has not happened.
Perhaps I am picking on the first sentence too much: "If you've taken a peek at wholesale gasoline futures as well as oil prices today, you'll see that prices are again heading higher." But that little bubble on Monday is now gone. The wholesale price of gas is now a bit down this week.
Here is the summary of weekly Friday closing futures for gas (RBOB) and oil (WTI) for the last 3 months; with the midnight prices at the start of Tuesday thru Thursday this week:
Friday Close: Gas (RBOB) - Oil (WTI) 7/02/2010: $1.97.770/gal - $72.140/barrel 7/09/2010: $2.07.000/gal - $76.090/barrel 7/16/2010: $2.04.860/gal - $76.010/barrel 7/23/2010: $2.12.220/gal - $78.980/barrel 7/30/2010: $2.12.240/gal - $78.950/barrel 8/06/2010: $2.11.270/gal - $80.700/barrel 8/13/2010: $1.93.960/gal - $75.390/barrel 8/20/2010: $1.92.510/gal - $73.820/barrel 8/27/2010: $1.94.790/gal - $75.170/barrel 9/03/2010: $1.91.950/gal - $74.600/barrel 9/10/2010: $1.97.310/gal - $76.450/barrel 9/17/2010: $1.91.920/gal - $73.660/barrel Midnight on Tuesday - Thursday: 9/21/2010: $1.94.750/gal - $74.270/barrel 9/22/2010: $1.91.450/gal - $75.090/barrel 9/23/2010: $1.90.330/gal - $74.800/barrel

This is just another move by the politicians in office to make themselves appear what they did with the stimulus packages helped us get out of the recession so they get reelected this November.

Do you really trust these reports by the Obama administration? My, how timely this announcement is. It'll be a hoot to watch Plagiarizing Joe trying to make us believe that we've bottomed out and are on our way back up. Tell that to the 15 million unemployed Americans. They've had all the "Hope" and "Change" they can stand.

The economic slump ENDED! Unemployment the lowest in one month! The economy is just flying. RIGHT! Just six weeks before the election! How convenient! I think on November 2, we'll let the folks in DC otherwise! We'll see you at the polls!

Sorry, I never saw gas come down to the level of the economy and joblessness, so it shouldn't have the right to rise if things improve.

Way in the future, gasoline will no longer be used for transportation. There will be much better products out there. As a matter of fact, diesel, fuel cells and all electric are already giving gasoline a run for its money.

While the recession may be over, technically speaking, banks still are not lending to small businesses and large companies are sitting on their cash, not expanding or hiring.
We also need to get rid of the BS about being a service economy. We need to build and produce things.
Unfortunately, with the energy policy from the Bush/Cheney energy task force, each positive uptick in the economy will allow speculators to ratchet up the price of oil and gas.

Energy prices go up; Economy slows down.
Dollar value deteriorates; Economy goes down.
National debt increases; Economy goes down.
Unemployment is still at an all time high for many years.
So just because the Speculators think they can get more money for their oil futures that means the economy is better. Right; Sure thing.
See the article yesterday? High oil prices has been at the root of four recessions.
So just jack those prices right back up there.
